If you're going on vacation, these tips are for you.
1. Plan first!
Ideally, you should plan your physical activity before you go on vacation. If you're going to a hotel with a spa and gym, pack the right equipment. And anticipate fitness routines for everyone: once a week, go for a bike ride. Does the region where you're going on vacation offer canoeing, are there paddle tennis courts nearby? Book in advance! And make sure your clothes are fitted for exercise. That way you have no excuses not to keep active on vacation!
2. Swimming, whenever possible to keep active on vacation
There's almost always a swimming pool, a river beach, a lagoon or the sea nearby on summer vacation. Swimming is one of the most complete sports, as it allows you to work out your whole body. It tones the muscles, increases strength and endurance. Swimming strengthens your heart and your muscles. It's an activity to discover or continue practicing on vacation!
3. Gym on the beach
You can do a complete exercise plan on the sand. Start with a warm-up. Then two plank sequences. Two more sit-ups. Add two sprints. And then a return to calm. With a few stretches.
The beach is also a possible setting for yoga exercises. Make the towel your yoga mat and use an app to practice some of the exercises that can increase and improve strength and flexibility.
On the beach, you can do a good functional workout using your own body weight. And then it all ends with a swim! It remains to be seen how you'll escape the Berlin ball. It will take courage not to ruin an hour's training in a minute!
But most importantly of all... stay active on vacation!
4. Walk every day!
Walking helps control weight, protects joints, tones legs, improves mood and immune function. So set aside at least 30 minutes a day for your walks.
On the beach, in the morning or late afternoon, walk along the seafront. In cities, walking is an excellent way to get to know the area. Paris, Amsterdam, London, Stockholm and Barcelona are all cities to explore on foot. And there are always gardens to practice this low-impact activity.
