• Sérgio Santos

    Triathlon Coach

    Sérgio Santos is an internationally renowned triathlon coach, who has already contributed to great results for high-performance athletes. He started playing sport as a child, and from an early age he felt a vocation to help other athletes achieve results: at 17 he was already coaching swimming, and at 18 basketball.

    His sport of choice has been triathlon and, in addition to his activity as an athlete, he was National Technical Director of the Triathlon Federation between 2000 and 2010, and since then he has run the Rio Maior Sports Complex, where he is also a teacher and coach.

As an athlete: Winner of the 45-49 category of the Badajoz Marathon.

2015

As an athlete: 2nd place in the 45-49 class in the Tokyo Marathon.

2014

As an athlete: Winner of the Florence Marathon in the 45-49 age group.

2012

As an athlete: 17th place in the Killian Classik UltraTrail (46km-2200D+), 14th place in the Amigos da Montanha UltraTrail - (57km-2300D+).

2008

As a Coach: Silver medal Olympic Games.

2007

As a coach: Elite World Champion.

My daily inspiration

The well-being and mental comfort that sport provides, the satisfaction of helping other people achieve their sporting goals and the desire to pass on the example of positive and healthy behavior to family and new generations.
