Estefanía Fernández

Canoeist

Estefanía Fernández was born in Mérida on June 25, 1996. From a young age, she was very involved in sports, first in rhythmic gymnastics and then in her passion: canoeing. This young woman from Extremadura has been practicing this sport since she was 9 years old, back in 2006, thanks to her brother who managed to get her hooked on canoeing, a sport she has not separated from since then.

Since she began her journey in canoeing, the Emeritense has not stopped achieving success, such as winning bronze in the European Championship or her five consecutive Spanish championships. Estefanía trains with great effort and determination at the La Cartuja High-Performance Center (Seville). She always seeks inspiration from athletes like Teresa Portela, whom she has admired since she started in this sport.
