    Judo

Catarina Costa developed a passion for sport from a very young age. She started with swimming, tennis and soccer, but it was in judo that she found her true calling at the age of 11. In just two years, she won her first national title at youth level and, since 2011, she has been a member of the national team, having been national champion at every level.

In 2014, she finished secondary school and started studying medicine in Coimbra, where she is currently in her sixth year. Reconciling her studies with top-level sport has been a challenge, but Catarina believes that this duality has helped her grow both as an athlete and as a person.

In 2018, he joined the senior team and began his Olympic qualification for Tokyo, where he achieved an Olympic diploma with 5th place. More recently, at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she came 9th. The experience of competing on the world's biggest sporting stages, alongside the best, has profoundly marked his career and strengthened his determination to continue pursuing his goals.
