Mountain climbing

He started to climb in Serra da Estrela, and the following year he was already making his debut in the great snow and ice climbing in the Alps. He was the first Portuguese to climb Everest, and has already conquered the highest peaks in the world without the use of artificial oxygen. He wrote several books and made documentaries, and was awarded by the Portuguese State as Commander of the Portuguese Honorific Order of Merit.
